The Campaign for Cincinnati State: Four Pillars
The Campaign for Cincinnati State is a four year campaign resting on four pillars:
I. Scholarships
Campaign Goal: $1 million
As an open-access institution, Cincinnati State strives to keep tuition affordable. Our tuition did not increase from 1977 through 2001 – no easy feat due to significant reductions in state subsidy.
Even with tuition as low as $80.20 per credit hour, more than 70 percent of Cincinnati State’s students receive some form of financial assistance, and that percentage continues to grow each year.
II. Endowment
Campaign Goal: $1 million
Cincinnati State is a young institution by regional standards. Chartered by the State of Ohio in 1969, we have remained focused on the immediacy of our task – providing a superior workforce with critical thinking skills.
As students’ needs for scholarships and grants-in-aid, special services and other support services continue to increase, the endowment must be enhanced to give the College the wherewithal to move forward aggressively and with flexibility.
III. Program Support
Campaign Goal: $7 million
Due to our strong emphasis on technology education, Cincinnati State’s equipment and laboratory requirements are more expensive than those of most other higher education institutions. State-of-the-art education needs industry standard learning tools. Our philosophy of providing students with hands-on learning experiences before sending them into co-op jobs ensures they are well prepared for their professional responsibilities.
Over the years, we have been fortunate to receive gifts of equipment from local business and industry, ranging from computers to software to an industrial robot. These in-kind gifts have been put to immediate use in the College’s classrooms and laboratories.
Additionally, existing academic programs and support areas require ongoing financial support to ensure their vitality.
IV. The Advanced Technology & Learning Center
Campaign Goal: $7 million
(equipment only)
The Cincinnati State Advanced Technology & Learning Center is the most significant physical addition to our campus in the College’s 33-year history.
The 216,000-square-foot- center focuses on two fast-growing industries that have significant economic impact in our region: information technology and culinary arts. In addition, the new facility will provide Cincinnati State’s first student life center.
