The human resources team is an essential department in every successful organization. The Human Resource Management certificate provides students with a curriculum that includes current practices in human resources, labor/employment law, benefits, compensation and management.


The Human Resource Management certificate is a short-term program that can be completed in less than one year. This certificate does not have a cooperative education requirement.


Students in this program will learn interviewing and hiring techniques, administration of performance appraisals, benefits and issues, and will be prepared for entry-level positions in a human resource management office or for a front-line supervisory position.

Students must complete all certificate prerequisites prior to being admitted to the program. Only those students admitted to the program will be eligible to register for required technical courses.

• improve effectiveness as a frontline supervisor
• manage employee benefits
• handle workers compensation claims
