Civil Engineering Technology -
Architectural Major (CETA)
The architectural major prepares students for support positions with various architectural/ engineering firms. Architectural technicians provide an important interface between the architect and the project engineer. The program coursework focuses on the design aspect of building systems including lighting, HVAC, mechanical, and electrical systems. These students utilize their expertise in computer-aided drafting (CAD) to modify and finalize an architect or engineer’s detailed design plan.
Graduates will be prepared to:
• utilize CAD to prepare construction plans
• assist in the design of mechanical, HVAC, and lighting systems for a building
• supervise project personnel
• manage electronic plan development and maintenance
