Civil Engineering Technology - Surveying Major (CETS)
A surveyor enjoys diverse responsibilities as part of his or her everyday routine. Graduates can be found outdoors collecting data, in the office preparing project plans, and in the field networking with public and private sector clients. The program coursework includes operating state of the art surveying equipment and computer software in conjunction with the fundamentals of civil and site design. Students will graduate with specialized knowledge of boundary resolution, subdivision design, Geographical Information Systems, and the Global Positioning System.
Graduates will be prepared to:
• prepare subdivision and site plans
• operate high-tech survey equipment
• conduct topographical and boundary surveys
• lead field crews
• utilize Global Positioning Satellites for data acquisition
