Associate of Technical Study-
Law Enforcement

 

If you are a certified Ohio Police/Peace Officer and have always wanted the personal satisfaction of obtaining a college degree, the Associate of Technical Study program in Law Enforcement can provide an excellent opportunity. You are eligible to be credited with 45 credit hours towards an Associate of Technical Study degree at Cincinnati State Technical and Community College.

The remaining 57 credits can be obtained in about a year. Many courses are transferable and may also be applied toward a bachelor’s degree at other colleges.

 

 

To begin the Admissions process you must:

 

Œ      Bring in your original OPOTA certificate and a letter of verification stating that you successfully completed the training.

      Have your high school and/or college send us an official copy of your transcript.

Ž      If you have a GED, bring in a copy of your certificate in addition to your transcript of scores.

      Come to Room 196 and take the COMPASS assessment test. No Appointment is necessary.

      After you receive your letter of admittance, schedule an appointment to see your advisor.

 

 

 

X        Students are permitted to register for classes while completing the Admissions process.

 

X        Cincinnati State Technical and Community College is a state-assisted institution of higher education, which is accredited by the NCA.

 

Residency Requirement

Students seeking the Associate of Technical Study in Law Enforcement at Cincinnati State must complete at least thirty-three (33) credit hours of college-level, non co-op/non-clinical credit hours at Cincinnati State.  Credit hours earned in courses which combine class and lab hours will be considered “non-clinical” credit hours for the purpose of the residency requirement.
