Certified Employee Benefit Specialists (CEBS) recently changed the requirements for its Group Benefits Associate (GBA) designation.
· The designation now requires completion of just three (3) exams/courses:
GBA 1 – Employee Benefits: Concepts and Healthcare Benefits
GBA 2 – Employee Benefits: Design, Administration and Other Welfare Benefits
GBA 3 – Health Economics
In conjunction with this change, Cincinnati State will begin offering all three courses year round beginning October 30, 2007.
The classes will meet on Tuesday evenings - 6:00 p.m. - 8:50 p.m.
GBA 1 – October 30, 2007 – December 18, 2007
GBA 2 – February 5, 2008 –
April 8, 2008
GBA 3 – April 15, 2008 –
June 17, 2008
What is CEBS? The Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) program is collaboration between the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans (IFEBP) and The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. The CEBS curriculum is a set of college level courses and exams. Successful completion of CEBS exams apply towards several designations: Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS), Group Benefits Associate (GBA), Retirement Plans Associate (RPA), and Compensation Management Specialist (CMS).
Who should consider enrolling in a class and the CEBS curriculum?
- Those new to Human Resources and Employee Benefits
- Experienced HR and Benefits practitioners who want to take their career to a new level
- Those considering a move into, or a start into, the HR and Benefits field
CEBS classes at Cincinnati State provide a disciplined, structured way to prepare for the national examinations. You will have access to a knowledgeable instructor who will walk you through the difficult material and be there to answer your questions. Classes also are a great way to network with others professionals in your community and find out what’s going on in other organizations. You’ll meet some interesting people and develop a broader perspective of the industry.
Cost - $385 per course (3 credit hours), plus materials
