Catalog course description:
This course is designed to provide the basic knowledge on “how to develop an organization’s safety program". In order to develop and administer a comprehensive safety program, it is critical for a safety professional or a member of management to know “where to look” and “how to apply” specific OSHA regulations that effect your organization.
Sequence of topics to be covered:

Research and interpret applicable OSHA regulations from the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR)

Explain the key elements of the Hazardous (Chemical Safety) Communications Standard

Explain the key elements of Walking & Working Surfaces Standards

Explain the key elements of Means of Egress and Fire Protection Standard

Explain the key elements of Electrical Safety and Lockout/Tagout Standards

Explain the key elements of Hazardous Material Storage Requirements

Explain the key elements of the Machine Guarding Standard

Explain the key elements of a Permit Required Confined Space program
-
Explain the key elements of a Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) program

Explain the key elements of General Industry training, type and how often

Explain the key elements of the Blood-borne Pathogen & First Aid requirements

Explain the key elements of the HAZWOPER Standards

Explain the key elements of OSHA’s Hearing Conservation Program

Define the terms Ergonomics and Job Hazard Analysis

Course Outcomes:
A competent individual who will possess a basic understanding of OSHA regulations and how they apply in the workplace. Students who successfully complete the workshop will be awarded an OSHA 30-Hour General Industry OSHA Outreach Safety Card.
