Catalog course description:

 

This course is designed to provide the student’s knowledge of hazards associated with Fall Protection operations in a Construction and General Industry environment. This class is mandated by the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) for all individuals who participate in business operations for which there are Fall Protection hazards.

 

Sequence of topics to be covered:

  • Recognize and explain fall protection hazards in the work environment
  • Explain the different type of fall protection systems and how they apply to a specific job site
  • Select and wear a Personal fall Arrest System (PFAS)
  • Select the correct type of vertical and horizontal anchoring systems

Course Outcomes:

 

After this course the student will meet the minimum requirements as outlined in the OSHA Fall Protection Standard, 29 CFR 1926 Subpart M.
