This course is designed to increase the student’s knowledge of hazards associated with permit-required confined space entry operations, safe entry techniques and OSHA “Permit Required Confined Space” standard 29 CFR 1910.146
Sequence of topics to be covered:

Recognize and explain a permit-required confined space

Explain the duties and responsibilities of an Authorized Entrant, Attendant, Entry Supervisor, and Rescue and Emergency Services

Select and place into operation a direct reading instrument(s) to monitor for flammable, oxygen deficient/enriched, and toxic gases and vapors

Select and “don” appropriate respiratory protection

Perform pre-entry, entry, and exit procedures for permit required spaces

Select and place into operation a retrieval system

Select and place into operation a fall protection system
Course Outcomes:
After this course the student will be more knowledgeable of the OSHA Confined Space Standard, 29 CFR 1910.146 and how it applies to specific facilities.
