Catalog course description:
This course is designed for personnel who have responsibility for regulatory compliance, transportation management, receiving/loading dock operations, purchasing or safety. It provides the basic information requirements outlined in the Hazardous Material Regulations (49 CFR 171-180).
Sequence of topics to be covered:

Discuss the key elements of both the Hazardous Material Transportation Act (HMTA) and the Hazardous Materials Transportation Uniform Safety Act of 1990 (HMTUSA)

Explain the key elements of HM-126F “Training for Safe Transportation of Hazardous Materials”

Explain the key elements of HM-181 “Performance Oriented Packaging”

Select proper markings, labels, and placards for hazardous substances for classes 1 thru 9

State the Hazardous Material Regulations (HMR) Training program requirements

Explain the key elements of HM 215 A&B
Course Outcomes:
After completion of this course the participant will possess the necessary information on the USDOT Hazardous Material Regulations (HMR) in order to evaluate compliance of the organizational hazardous materials transportation program.
