Landscape Horticulture/Turfgrass

An appreciation for nature and the outdoors are prerequisites for careers in Landscape and Turf Management. Students learn to combine skills in the arts, sciences and business management to enhance the world. The industry is diverse and thriving. The flexible Landscape Horticulture curriculum allows opportunities to specialize in landscape design and contracting, plant production, tree care, interior plantscaping and floral design. The new Turfgrass Management major prepares graduates for careers in golf course, sports turf, and lawn management.


Graduates will be prepared to:
• manage horticultural businesses
• design landscapes
• build and install patios, decks, walls and walkways
• properly maintain plants, turfgrasses and grounds
• operate and maintain horticultural equipment
