Pastry Arts Technology
(PAS)

 

 

 

The Pastry Arts program prepares the student for employment in the culinary industry as a pastry chef, or, as a baker in the field of baking and flour confectionery. The courses are designed to include all technical aspects of baking and pastry that are commonly used in the industry, such as the preparation of yeast doughs, cakes and cookie production, cold desserts and the construction of pastry centerpieces. Graduates earn an Associates of Applied Business degree and are also eligible for certification from the National Retail Bakers Association. Graduates are eligible to work in hotels, restaurants, bakeries, pastry shops, and any other foodservice operations that require the services of a baking or pastry professional.
