Come join in the exciting world of ULTRASOUND! Sonography is a diagnostic medical procedure that uses sound waves to produce images of soft tissue structures and organs in the body. Sonographers work closely with physicians and have extensive, direct patient contact. They must be able to interact compassionately and effectively with people who range from healthy to critically ill.

About the Program
The Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program at Cincinnati State offers students the opportunity to become entry-level diagnostic medical sonographers. Students may choose between two areas of emphasis: Cardiovascular Sonography which involves the demonstration and evaluation of structures within the heart and vascular systems or General Imaging Sonography (abdominal/ obstetrics/ gynecology) which involves the demonstration and evaluation of abdominal structures, superficial structures, pelvic structures and fetal structures.

Estimated Tuition Costs
Tuition for Ohio residents is approximately $7,700.00. Fees are approximately $450. Books are approximately $1,200. The total is approximately $9,350. Tuition is doubled for out-of-state students except those in Northern Kentucky (see catalogue for more information). Uniforms are required. Tuition and fees are subject to change at the discretion of the college.
Accreditation
The DMS Program at Cincinnati State Technical and Community College is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) located at 35 East Wacker Drive, Chicago, Illinois.
