The DEAF STUDIES CERTIFICATE has been created for those students who do not want to become professional interpreters.  This certificate will enable students to learn more about sign language and deaf culture, and to be involved as an advocate or signer, but not as a paid professional. The Deaf Studies Certificate does not lead to interpreting career.

*Beginning ASL 1, 2, and 3 (ITP 1086, 1087, 1088) or advisor approval of equivalent experience are prerequisites to Intermediate ASL 1 Level.
