Business Computer Programming and Database Management is one of the degree programs in the Programming and Software Development career area.  Utilizing state-of-the-art programming languages and database technologies, the BCP degree program often exceeds corporate employment requirements by preparing students to design, program, and administer e-business and e-commerce systems on the Internet.

 

Students will choose a concentration in either advanced .NET Programming (BCP.NET) or Database Administration (BCP.DBA).

The impressive list of software and programming languages utilized throughout this curriculum include Visual Basic.NET, SQL Server, Oracle Database, Crystal Reports, HTML, ASP.NET, JavaScript, and XML.  Fundamentals courses include Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Project, and Access.   This curriculum follows the course recommendations for Microsoft certifications in both concentrations.

 

A recent addition to the curriculum is a course in Digital Media Concepts.  Students learn how to use scanners, digital cameras, Photoshop software, microphones, Sonic Foundry ACID software, Adobe Premiere and After Effects software, and digital video cameras.

 

The faculty of the BCPDM program consider Cooperative Education to be an integral part the curriculum.  The combination of Cooperative Education and Capstone Design courses allows students to expand their technical, business, and communications skills through real business case studies (projects) supplied by corporate clients from here in the Cincinnati area.

A majority of the BCPDM degree courses are taught 100% online.  Our online courses utilize short, easy to follow Internet based videos along with WebEx and Microsoft Live Meeting for web conferences and online meetings with your instructor.  This advanced online course delivery system provides you with the flexibility to quickly complete your degree requirements at both a time and place that are convenient for you.

 

Graduates earn an Associate of Applied Science degree.  Jobs in this field are fast paced, highly technical, and highly paid.  Job titles for graduates include;
