Personal, Career, and Academic:

The Counselor/Special Needs is available by appointment to speak with the student about personal, career, and academic needs.

 

Referrals:

The Counselor/Special Needs is available by appointment to refer the student to appropriate off-campus agencies.

 

Appointments:

The student must schedule an appointment to speak with the Counselor/Special Needs for the following:

  • Personal counseling
  • Resolving a student-faculty conflict
  • Career counseling
  • Academic assessment
  • Discussion regarding the possible presence of a disability
  • Transfer counseling
  • Conflicts involving off-campus agencies such as BVR or BSVI

Walk-Ins:

A walk-in is a student who requires brief contact with the Counselor/Special Needs that will not exceed fifteen (15) minutes.  The following are issues suitable for walk-ins:

  • Picking up exam proctoring letters
  • Picking up note-taker request letters
  • Dropping off disability accommodation
  • Picking up Information Waivers
  • Requesting material to be taped
  • Physical accessibility e.g., broken elevator
  • Requesting computer software modifications
  • Scheduling assistive technology appointments
  • Scheduling exam proctoring
  • Referral to off-campus resources
  • Admission information
  • Referrals to other campus offices
