Interpreting services will be provided to students who are Deaf or hearing impaired. To utilize interpreting services, a student must be proficient in receiving oral or signed communications. Student Responsibilities include:
1. Requests for interpreting services should be made as early in the registration period as possible, and submitted to the interpreter coordinator no less than five (5) days prior to the start of the academic term.
2. Notify the interpreter coordinator that you have registered by calling 513-569-1733 (V/TTY) or by submitting written notice in Room 232, Main Building.
3. Requests for interpreting services outside of the classroom such as testing, advising, tutoring, and financial aid appointments must be submitted in advance to the interpreter coordinator at least 48 hours prior to the appointment.
4. Students must notify the interpreter coordinator if they are going to miss a class, or if a class is dropped.
5. If a student misses three (3) consecutive classes without informing the interpreter coordinator, interpreting services will be cancelled for that class. We reserve the right to suspend interpreting services when the student does not communicate with us.
6. Arrangements for co-ops and clinical placements must be made through the interpreter coordinator. At least five (5) days notice is required for these assignments. Interpreters for field trips must also be scheduled through the interpreter coordinator. These require at least 48 hours notice.
7. Students must give interpreter coordinator contact information such as email address, phone number, or text message address.
