EL Credit. If you have successfully completed a nationally-recognized professional exam which indicates mastery of skills or competencies and the exam is related to your Cincinnati State degree or certificate requirements, you may be eligible to receive credit for a Cincinnati State course or group of courses related to the skills or competencies on the exam. A faculty member in the Division responsible for the course(s) for which you are seeking EL credit will determine which course(s) are equivalent to the professional exam and merit credit.
To apply for EL credit, you will need to submit documentation of your exam results to the program chair, academic advisor or cooperative education coordinator in the Division offering the course(s) you are seeking. If it is determined that you merit EL credit, you will need to complete a petition for EL credit, have the Division Dean or Assistant Dean approve the petition, pay the amount of one (1) credit hour’s tuition at the Cashier’s Office, and then submit the form to the Registrar’s Office.
