Eligibility Criteria

 

 

 

To Receive Financial Aid You Must:

  1. Be admitted into a degree seeking program or an eligible certificate program.
    1. This means you must have all required admissions documents completed and in the Admissions Office by the 1st day of the current term.  If not, your admit status will not occur until the next term.
    2. It takes at least 5 days, after all documents have been received, to process an admissions file.
    3. If you graduate from one program and plan to seek another degree, you must be admitted into the second degree program to be eligible for aid.
  2. Be meeting Standards of Academic Progress (SAP).
    1. Pass 67% of your classes (credit hours completed/credit hours attempted).Withdrawals, F's, U's, and I's count as cretit hours attempted.
    2. Maintain the required GPA:
      1. 1-47 credit hours - GPA = 1.75+
      2. 48+ credit hours -GPA = 2.0+
      3. You cannot attempt more than 150% of required credit hours. Example: If it takes 108 credit hours to complete degree you cannot receive financial aid for more than 162 attempted credit hours (108*1.5=162).
      4. Non-credit remedial courses are not computed in the maximum time frame or GPA.  A student cannot attempt more than 45 non-credit remedial courses (Developmental Education or DE).
  3. Be a citizen or an eligible non citizen.
  4. Have a valid Social Security Number.
  5. Sign a statement of education purpose and a certification statement on overpayment and default (both found on the FAFSA).
