Steps to Receiving Financial Aid:

Step 1

Get your Personal Identification Number (PIN) for FAFSA online at www.pin.ed.gov.

Complete FAFSA, using your PIN, online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Make sure you put our code (010345) on your application.

Step 2

Central Processing (CP) receives FAFSA.

CP computes Estimated Family Contribution (EFC).

CP selects random 30% for Verification.
-
CP checks databases (IRS, NSLDS, INS) for accuracy.

CP sends Student Aid Report (SAR) to student.

CP sends information to the school electronically.

Step 3

Cincinnati State (CS) communicates verification selection /discrepencies to student.

Step 4

If not selected for verification or no discrepancies have been found or discrepancies have been resolved, you will be notified via your Cincinnati State email address of your financial aid award, if eligible.

Step 5

After the college's No Show processing is completed, the processing of refund checks will take place. This should be sometime after the 3rd or 4th week of the term. If a refund check is due to the student, it will be sent BY MAIL within 14 days of disbursement.
