EX Credit. If you are seeking credit for a Cincinnati State course(s) required for your program for which you feel you have mastered the skills or competencies of that course through your work experience, this would be awarded as EX credit. A faculty member in the Division responsible for the course(s) for which you are seeking EX credit will determine which course(s) are equivalent to the work experience you have had and merit credit.
To apply for EX credit, you will need to submit any documentation possible regarding your work experience (e.g. work samples, official job descriptions, letters from supervisors, etc.) to the program chair, academic advisor or cooperative education coordinator in the Division offering the course(s) you are seeking. If it is determined you merit EX credit, you will need to complete a petition for EX credit, have the Division Dean or Assistant Dean approve the petition, pay the amount of one (1) credit hour’s tuition at the Cashier’s Office, and then submit the form to the Registrar’s Office.
