External Formal Training
Program (ET)

ET Credit.  If you have completed a formal training program in a business, industrial or hospital setting and the training is related to your Cincinnati State degree or certificate requirements, you may be eligible to receive credit for a Cincinnati State course(s) related to the training you completed.   A faculty member in the Division responsible for the course(s) for which you are seeking ET credit will determine which course(s) are equivalent to the formal training you have received.

To apply for ET credit, you will need to submit documentation regarding your training program (e.g. course outlines, course content, certificates of completion and letters from course trainers or supervisors) to the program chair, academic advisor or cooperative education coordinator in the Division offering the course(s) you are seeking.  If it is determined you merit ET credit, you will need to complete a petition for ET credit, have the Division Dean or Assistant Dean approve the petition, pay the amount of one (1) credit hour’s tuition at the Cashier’s Office, and then submit the form to the Registrar’s Office.
