Graduates will be prepared to:
• develop, implement and review nutrition care plan
• participate in assessing client’s nutritional status
• document client care
• counsel clients and families on specific diets
• monitor quality of food service
• supervise food production
• develop recipes and design menus
• monitor budget and inventory
Supervised Practice:
Students complete 450 hours of unpaid supervised practice to meet the competency requirements of the American Dietetic Association. Cooperative education is not required.
Accreditation:
The Dietetic Technology Program is currently accredited by: Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education of the American Dietetic Association.
Credentialing:
Successful completion of this program permits the student to take the certification examination for Dietetic Technicians given by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association. Graduates who pass the certification exam may use the credential Dietetic Technician Registered (DTR).

Employment Outlook:
According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, growth in employment of dietetic practitioners is expected due to the increased emphasis on disease prevention, a growing and aging population, and a public interest in nutrition.
