Industrial Design Technology (IDT) program combines the analytical and technical computer skills from a mechanical program with the visual and artistic skills from a computer graphics program. The IDT program deals with the form and function of manufactured goods. An industrial design technician is involved in the creation of new product shapes and styles or re-designing existing products to increase their usefulness through applications of ergonomics, computer generated images, modeling, and prototyping.
Graduates will be prepared to:
· create two-dimensional and three-dimensional computer graphics
· create three-dimensional models and prototypes
· create a wide range of product designs
· interface with engineering and manufacturing
