Mechanical Engineering Technology — Design (METD)

 

The Mechanical Engineering Technology program teaches students to use the latest technology to design and manufacture devices and systems for use in consumer products, machine tools,and the automotive, and aerospace industries. MET Design is the traditional Mechanical Engineering Technology program.  The curriculum is designed to prepare students for solving real-world problems using logical thinking, problem solving and computer software. The emphasis is placed on CAD (Computer Aided Design) and CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) as the students learn to produce designs from concept to completion.

 

Graduates will be prepared to:

• design mechanical systems

• utilize CAD system

• manage design projects

• perform product testing
