Nurse Aide Training
(STNA)

This is a 6 credit hour course for training Nurse Aides offering the approved 75 hour State of Ohio TCEP curriculum.

Students wishing to obtain jobs as Nurse Aides in any long term facility in Ohio and in most hospitals are required to pass a State approved course and pass a State Test that will place them on the nurse aide registry.  Trainees passing this course will be eligible to take the State Test. (After completing the course and test in Ohio many states accept reciprocity).   The course consists of classroom instruction, lab in a simulated resident room and a minimum of 16 clinical hours in an actual long term care facility under the direct supervision of a qualified instructor.

The employment outlook is very favorable. With the aging population growing, there is an ever constant need for nursing assistants.  The starting salary that can be expected is $10.00 per hour with added opportunities for shift differentials.

Students must obtain a physical and 2-Step PPD (TB Testing) prior to registering for the program.  Applications and medical forms are available in the Health and Public Safety Division office or below.

Paperwork must be on file in order to register.  Once your paperwork has been received in the front office, you will be able to register for the course online like any other course during registration.  A waitlist will start online as soon as the class is full, however, space is limited.  If you are on the waitlist please be sure to check your college email daily.
