Paramedic (EMTP)

In an emergency situation, proper pre-hospital care can mean the difference between life and death. Whether it’s administering aid to the victim of an auto accident, or providing care to a person having a heart attack, trained paramedics play a vital role in the administration of care in both the pre-hospital and hospital setting

Paramedics are the highest level of pre-hospital care providers that rush to our sides in times of need.  They are specially trained in areas of:  advanced cardiac life support, patient assessment, administration of life saving medications, rescue, medical emergencies, and trauma intervention. For the student interested in taking their career beyond just the Certificate program, Cincinnati State offers 2 different Associate Degree programs designed to enhance the student’s knowledge and marketability in the workplace.

Associate of Paramedic Technology-Science Major:  Emphasis is placed on broadening the student’s knowledge of the body system’s, disease processes, and various drug therapies for patient situations. The focus of this degree would be for the paramedic who wants to work at developing area protocols, textbooks, and possibly instructing future paramedic students.
