Coursework emphasizes hands-on learning and critical thinking skills. Laboratories have industry-standard equipment. Faculty members have real-world work experience in their specialty areas.

Cincinnati State has the largest cooperative education program among two-year colleges in the country as measured by the number of student placements annually. All programs include co-ops, clinicals or internships so students can "try on" their career choices.

Many graduates transfer into baccalaureate programs at four-year colleges and universities.

Applicants with at least a 3.25 high school GPA may continue their pursuit of academic excellence through the Cincinnati State Honors Experience. Current Cincinnati State students are eligible to apply after completing 18 credits with a 3.25 GPA.
