Aviation Maintenance Technologies offer a degree program in Aviation Maintenance Technology that includes FAA-approved training and three certificate programs. Each course of study prepares graduates for a career maintaining and servicing aircraft components and systems. Coursework is devoted to learning every system of today’s aircraft, while developing mechanical skills on incinnati State’s very own fleet housed at Cincinnati West Airport, which is owned and operated by the College.

Programs Offered

Aviation Maintenance Technology
This two-year degree program prepares students to perform inspections and repairs on all types of aircraft, approving them for (ight after maintenance has been performed.

Graduates earn an Associate of Applied Science degree in conjunction with federal licensing. And, with Cincinnati State’s successful co-op program, you can earn a paycheck while preparing for your future.

Three certificate programs are offered to students who are FAA-certified aviation mechanics, or in conjunction with the Aviation Maintenance Technology program.

Airframe Certificate
This program includes study of aircraft structures; and hydraulic, electrical, and landing gear systems. Lab experiences include aircraft inspection, troubleshooting, and repair.
 
Powerplant Certificate
This program includes study of all types of aircraft engines: small and large, piston, and jet, along with the study of engine systems and propellers. Lab experiences include inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of aircraft engines.
 
Avionics Certificate
This program provides advanced skills in aviation electronics. The curriculum includes training to troubleshoot and repair onboard computers, automatic pilot, instrument navigation and communication equipment, and powerplant electronic control systems.
