High School Graduate/GED
Holder

Apply early!  Students are advised to begin the process of admission six to eight weeks in advance of the term in which they plan to attend Cincinnati State, in order to facilitate transcript requests from other schools, financial aid processing, and advising.  If you are looking for classes to get your GED, click here.

Cincinnati State is an open enrollment college, which means all students are welcome to attend.  There are three steps to the admission process:

1)  Fill out an application.  Apply online or download an application and send it to us: PDF Application.pdf

2)  If you are a high school graduate, have your high school mail an official transcript directly to Cincinnati State.  Please do not hand-carry it.  If you are a GED holder you must also submit a copy of your GED test scores to the Admission Office.  If you are a home-schooled student, please submit a notarized letter from your parents detailing the content of your home-school experience and duration, as well as a diploma and transcript from a recognized home-schooling association or a state diploma based on the GED.

3)  Plan to take the Compass Placement test administered at the College.  Testing consists of writing, reading, and mathematics.

Note: Financial Aid is not activated until all three of the above-mentioned steps are completed prior to the term you are seeking admission.

If you are not seeking a degree or certificate, you do not need to submit this application, transcripts, or take the placement test.
