The Cincinnati State Honors Experience supports the institutional goal of serving all aspects of the community by offering enhanced learning opportunities to academically talented, highly motivated students. The Honors Experience emphasizes a broad-based foundation of educational disciplines with the goal of enabling the student to transfer to a senior institution or enter a professional field at a high skill level with the capacity for continuous learning and responsible citizenship. The Honors Experience values creativity and intellectual curiosity; establishes a community among students and faculty; provides unique course work, enrichment activities, honors advising; and nurtures individual development and leadership.

We have designed the Honors Experience for students who want an educational challenge, to explore the world of ideas and go beyond the standard work of the classroom. Honors is not “more” work; it is a different type of work. We don’t make you “swim more laps,” we encourage you to swim in the deep end of the academic pool.
