The Honors Experience is open to part-time and full-time degree seeking students in all divisions who meet the entrance criteria. A limited number of merit scholarships are available. All students must take HRN#1695 Orientation to Honors as a pre/co-requisite to taking other Honors classes. Honors classes are offered in both the general studies core classes and in divisional curriculum. Courses typically planned include:
- English Composition 1, 2, 3
- Introduction to Psychology 1, 2
- Introduction to Sociology 1, 2
- Public Speaking
- Critical Thinking
- Introduction to Microeconomics
- Anatomy and Physiology 1, 2, 3
- Honors Colloquiums
- Anatomy and Physiology 1, 2, 3
Incoming students can qualify to apply through one of several ways: admissions testing, high school GPA of 3.25 or better, high school class rank in the top 20th percentile, SAT or ACT scores. And you must be admitted to a degree program at the college. Existing or transfer students may be considered for admission with 18 credit hours of work and GPA of 3.25 or better. Two letters of recommendation and a personal essay are required with an Application for Admission to The Honors Experience.
