Chancellor Eric Fingerhut to address Cincinnati State graduates

June 17, 2010

Eric D. Fingerhut, the Chancellor of the Ohio Board of Regents, will be the featured speaker at Cincinnati State’s commencement ceremony Thursday, June 24.

The event will be held at U.S. Bank Arena starting at 7 p.m.

This year more than 1,600 students will graduate from Cincinnati State.

Fingerhut is an attorney and former U.S. House member and Ohio state senator who was active in Cleveland area academic and non-profit organizations before his appointment as leader of Ohio’s system of higher education. In that role he has led efforts to coordinate the state’s entire educational network, strengthen ties between industry and academia and promote Ohio’s Third Frontier program and other initiatives to nurture high-tech and green industries.

Cincinnati State’s commencement program will also feature addresses by two faculty members, Brad Levy and Jon McKamey, recognized this year for teaching excellence.

Also scheduled to make presentations are Distinguished Alumnus Edward Horning from the Class of 1971 and Vicki Schwertman from the 2010 graduating class.
