Cincinnati State board forms presidential search committee
April 28, 2010
The board of trustees at Cincinnati State Technical and Community College has formed a search committee to choose a successor to Dr. John Henderson, who has been serving as interim president of the College since November, 2007.
The presidential search committee will be led by Mark D. Walton, vice chair of the Cincinnati State board of trustees and a vice president at 5/3 Bank.
Other members of the search committee are:
- Trustees Laurie Nippert Leonard, Robert W. McKenna, Jr. and Margy Waller
- Faculty members Wanda Dantzler, Paul Davis and Carla Gesell-Streeter
- Isiah Campbell, a student at Cincinnati State
- Anne Foster, director of institutional research and effectiveness at Cincinnati State
- Evans Nwankwo, president of Megen Construction and member of the Cincinnati State Foundation board
Dr. Henderson, who retired after more than 14 years service as president of Wilberforce University, agreed to serve as interim president at Cincinnati State following the resignation of Ron Wright in October, 2007. The Cincinnati State board had subsequently announced a search for a permanent successor to Dr. Wright, but postponed it in 2008 after Dr. Henderson agreed to extend his service until 2010.
The search committee has scheduled meetings on May 10, June 7 and June 18 at 4:00 p.m. in the College’s Board Room. A page devoted to the presidential search process has been established at the Cincinnati State website; its address is http://www.cincinnatistate.edu/about-cs/presidential-search-1/presidential-search.
