Cincinnati State, CBT, Rockwell to celebrate partnership on March 2
February 26, 2010
Cincinnati State’s Workforce Development Center in Evendale will be the site of a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 1:30 p.m. March 2 to celebrate its partnership with CBT and Rockwell Automation.
Rockwell Automation, a multi-national corporation, is a leading designer and manufacturer of equipment used to control industrial processes. CBT, based in Cincinnati, is a regional supplier of industrial automation products and is a distributor for Rockwell Automation products and services.
The partnership, which began in October, combines the Workforce Development Center’s expansive industrial maintenance course offerings and accessible campus with Rockwell Automation’s leading edge technology and industrial product training.
Students can earn college credit from Rockwell Automation instructors, using Rockwell Automation equipment and award-winning student materials designed by Rockwell Automation instructional developers. At the same time, they have access to the more generalized industrial maintenance training offered through the regular Workforce Development Center classes.
“It’s a great match,’’ said Larry Cherveny, a business manager at the Workforce Development Center. “It’s going to drive more business to the WDC, and it gives Rockwell Automation access to a well-established industrial maintenance training center. We’ve got a package here that no one else has.’’
The ribbon cutting ceremony on March 2 will be held in the auditorium at the Workforce Development Center (website), located at 10100 Reading Road in Evendale. The ceremony will highlight a product and training show for customers and guests of CBT, Rockwell and the Workforce Development Center. Press coverage of the ceremony is welcome.
