Cincinnati State Foundation Board elects new members

Grant V. Hesser and Brian S. Kelly have been elected to the governing board of the Cincinnati State Foundation. The Foundation raises funds and in other ways supports the programs, services and capital improvement projects of Cincinnati State Technical and Community College.

Hesser is president of PDSC Corp., a Cincinnati-based construction management firm. He is a past national director of the Associated General Contractors of America and a member of such professional organizations as the construction advisory group of the American Arbitration Association, the Private Industry Advisory Council’s Contract Documents Task Force, the Architectural Foundation of Cincinnati and Tri-State Health Engineers.

Hesser’s civic and community activities include service on the boards of the Bethesda Foundation, the Walnut Hills High School Alumni Foundation, Lighthouse Youth Services Foundation, Beechwood Home and Beechwood Foundation, Dohn Community High School and the Freestore Foodbank – Corwine Foundation. He is a past chairman of the Greater Cincinnati YMCA and of Beech Acres; chairman of the United Way/Community Chest capital needs committee and a member of the Cincinnatus Association and the Kilgour School LSDMC.

Kelly, a Cincinnati resident, is a founding partner of the Freedman Law Group in Los Angeles, Calif., a full-service legal firm that focuses on business and commercial litigation, arbitration and risk/liability assessment. A Cincinnati State graduate, he went on to play varsity basketball for the Georgetown Hoyas and earned a bachelor’s degree in business management.

After earning a law degree from Pepperdine University in 1997 he practiced law in Los Angeles, specializing in liability and commercial litigation as well as mediation and arbitration, before joining in the 2002 launch of The Freedman Law Group. He was awarded a Distinguished Alumni Award and an honorary doctor of arts degree from Cincinnati State in 2000.

Members of the Cincinnati State Foundation serve without compensation.
