Cincinnati State student aces American Chemical Society exam
October 3, 2011
Josh Rockey, a second-year student at Cincinnati State, has achieved a perfect score on the American Chemical Society General Chemistry Exam. The examination has been given to over 500 students in universities, colleges and two-year institutions since this summer to determine their achievement in freshman chemistry.
Chemistry apparently isn’t the only scientific field for which Rockey has an aptitude. He scored in the 99.9th percentile in the national PCAT, a national entrance test for pharmacy school applicants.
He also scored in the 82nd percentile on the national MCAT, a test widely taken by students interested in applying to medical school.
Rockey, a resident of West Chester, is an Associate of Science major at Cincinnati State. He plans to graduate by next spring, then enroll at the University of Cincinnati with hopes for a career in medicine.
