Cincinnati State to enter Findlay Market Opening Day Parade
March 28, 2011
Cincinnati State Technical and Community College is planning to join this year’s Findlay Market Opening Day Parade.
The College is planning to enter one of its fire trucks (used as part of its Fire Service Technology/Public Safety curriculum) in the parade, along with a small fleet of custom vehicles manufactured by students.
Also joining in the march will be student athletes from the Cincinnati State men’s soccer team, which in November competed in the championship final of the National Junior College Athletic Association championship in Tyler, Texas, and the women’s basketball team, which earlier this month returned from a No. 7 finish in the NJCAA national tournament in Peoria, Ill.
Rounding out the Cincinnati State entry will be students, alumni, staff and faculty.
The College is currently running a promotion on campus for its “Cincinnati State Day at the Reds” on May 1. If Cincinnati State sells out its allocation of tickets President O’dell M. Owens will throw out the ceremonial first pitch that day. For more information please see www.cincinnatistate.edu/reds.
