Cincinnati State to host ‘Going Green Makes Cents’ High School Day on Wednesday, March 31
March 30, 2010
Approximately 150 high school students and teachers will visit Cincinnati State Wednesday, March 31, for a full set of hands-on, environmentally-oriented activities.
The day’s theme is “Going Green Makes Cents.’’ The activities will deal with water conservation, air pollution control, energy conservation and the economics of recycling, among other topics. The interactive activities that have been developed for the high school students are designed to demonstrate the complexities of many environmental issues – and also to spark an interest in the field of Environmental Engineering Technology, which happens to be offered at Cincinnati State.
For the 11th year in a row, funding for the program has been provided by Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America, Inc., headquartered in Erlanger, Ky.
Organizers of the event for Cincinnati State are Ann M. Gunkel, PhD, Chair of the Environmental Engineering Technology Program (513.569.1783 or email) and Ann Fallon, a member of the Environmental Engineering Technology faculty (513.569.1750 or email).
