Cincinnati State to host academic competition

WHO: Students from 13 parochial high schools (Chaminade-Julienne, Elder, Fenwick, LaSalle, McNicholas, Moeller, Oldenburg, Purcell Marian, Roger Bacon, St. Ursula, Seton, St. Xavier and Ursuline)
WHAT: Students will compete at Cincinnati State in the Greater Cincinnati Academic League (GCAL) Winter Tournament. Teams will answer questions on a variety of subjects ranging from math, science and literature to mythology, spelling and history. The winning teams will move on to the Ohio Academic Competition in April.
WHEN: Saturday, February 14, 2009
9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
The final round of the competition will begin at 11:10 a.m.

WHY: Opportunity to showcase the talents of some of the best and brightest students from across the Tri-State as they compete academically for a chance at a regional/state title.
