Contract talks held at Cincinnati State; another session planned
October 11, 2011
Negotiators for Cincinnati State and the College’s chapter of the American Association of University Professors met for more than three hours Tuesday.
No agreement was reached, but both sides agreed to another negotiating session Monday, Oct. 17 at 2:30 p.m.
James Lawrence, an attorney representing Cincinnati State, said the college put forth a new offer concerning workload and other issues.
Tuesday’s session, called by mediator Earl Leonhardt, began about 4:30 p.m. and ended at approximately 7:50 p.m. It was the first since Sept. 22.
Negotiations between Cincinnati State and the AAUP began May 16.
The most recent contract expired Sept. 5. AAUP members conducted a week-long strike from Sept. 23-Sept. 30. They have been working since then under terms of the old contract.
