Dr. O’dell Owens, with help from mayoral pitching coach, is preparing for his trip to the mound on May 1
April 27, 2011
Members of the press corps are cordially invited to Cincinnati State Technical and Community College at their convenience to speak with Dr. Owens about his debut in the major leagues this coming Sunday, May 1, at the game against the Florida Marlins where he will throw out the ceremonial first pitch around 4:10 p.m.
While you are here, sample the special Reds cupcakes designed and baked by the chefs at Cincinnati State’s retail bakery at the Midwest Culinary Institute, Bakery Hill.
Dr. Owens has been practicing every day, and his pitching coach, the Honorable Mayor of Cincinnati, Mark Mallory, assures us that his arm will be ready and that Dr. Owens will honorably represent the 1,300 faculty, staff and students who will be attending the game as part of the Cincinnati State Day at the Reds promotion.
If you stop by this week you just might catch them practicing out on our front lawn, or indoors in the gym.
To make arrangements please contact the Cincinnati State communications office at (513) 569-4998.
