April 28, 2009
Students, faculty members and industry partners will gather Thursday, April 30 at Cincinnati State Technical and Community College for the 11th annual Toyota Environmental Earth Jam.
The event, held each year during Earth Week, is designed to promote environmental awareness. Between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., participants will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on activities that focus on local environmental issues and solutions.
The events will be held in the courtyard of the Advanced Technology Learning Center at Cincinnati State’s Clifton campus. In the event of rain, activities will move into the ATLC lobbies and lounges.
Industry partners include the Fernald Preserve; Split Rock Conservation Park; Ohio EPA.; Southwest Ohio Water Environment Association; Hamilton County Dept. of Environmental Services; Toyota (which will display a hybrid Camry); Rumpke Recycling and the Hamilton County Soil & Water Conservation District.
Food and drinks will be available for purchase. The Horticulture Club will be selling plants (and those who wear this year’s Earth Day T-shirt to the Earth Jam will receive a free plant.) Music will be provided by the Seedy Seed.
