Hatter honored by chamber

David Hatter, an adjunct faculty member at Cincinnati State, was honored Tuesday by the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber with a 2009 Small Business Excellence Award.
Hatter is president of Libertas Technologies, a software firm based in downtown Cincinnati that specializes in helping companies streamline their operations and use technology to promote operational efficiencies.
At Cincinnati State, Hatter primarily teaches web development and visual basic.
He also maintains a blog (http://davehatter.wordpress.com) about the intersection between business and technology. And he is currently serving his six term as a member of the Fort Wright, Ky., City Council.
The chamber award, presented during a luncheon Tuesday (May 19) at the downtown Millennium Hotel, recognized Libertas Technologies as Small Business of the Year in the 1-50 employees category. The award is based on such critera as growth, reputation and community service.
The award is one of several that Libertas has received recently. The company also won the 2009 U.S. Chamber of Commerce Blue Ribbon Small Business Award, the 2008 Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Small Business “SUCCESS’’ award and the 2007 Cincinnati Better Business Bureau Torch Award.
