April 11, 2011
Dr. O’dell M. Owens, President of Cincinnati State Technical & Community College, today announced the appointment of Nan Kohnen Cahall as Director of Government & Community Affairs.
In this newly established position she will be responsible for the College’s relationships with local, state and federal officials and agencies, along with its dealings involving community organizations and constituencies.
Nan Kohnen Cahall has more than 20 years of public policy and community relations experience, most recently serving as State Director for U.S. Sen. George Voinovich of Ohio.
In addition to her work on behalf of Sen. Voinovich (who recently retired), Cahall has worked as a district director for U.S. Reps. Rob Portman (now a U.S. Senator) and Jean Schmidt of Cincinnati. Earlier in her career she served as Director of Governmental Affairs for the Homebuilders Association of Greater Cincinnati, and for five years as controller for a small private business.
A graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University, she holds a BA in politics and government.
“The College is fortunate to have someone with Nan’s experience and relationships on board,” Dr. Owens said. “Cincinnati State has seen explosive growth during the last two years and we look forward to Nan helping the College continue to provide opportunities for our students as we train the workers who will lead our region’s economic recovery.’’
