Cincinnati State to host Scholarship 5K Run and Fitness Walk

Cincinnati State Technical and Community College will host a 5K Run and Fitness Walk on Saturday, Oct. 17, starting at 9 a.m.

Pre-race registration for non-students is $20. The fee is $25 the day of the event. In honor of Sweetest Day, couples may participate in the run or walk for $35 and be entered in a special drawing for a romantic getaway and other prizes.

All proceeds will be used to fund scholarships for students at Cincinnati State.

The race will begin at the Advanced Technology & Learning Center at Cincinnati State’s Clifton campus. The hilly course will wind through Clifton’s Gaslight and Clifton Hills neighborhoods.

Awards will be presented to the top male and female runners and walkers, and to the top 15 percent of each run and walk age group (based on pre-registration). For runners the age groups for men and women are 18 and under, 19-24, 25-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 and above. In the walk division the age brackets are 18 and under, 19-29, 30-39, 40 and over.
