Welcome back, Central High and Courter Tech!

OVERVIEW

As part of the year-long celebration of its 40th anniversary, Cincinnati State Technical and Community College is planning to extend a welcome to those who knew the campus from its high school days.

On Friday, June 5, and Saturday June 6, Cincinnati State will host several events for those who attended Central High School and later Courter Technical School – each of which occupied the structure now known as the Main Building on the Clifton campus. The agenda includes a gourmet dinner at Cincinnati State’s Midwest Culinary Institute, an open house and an old fashioned mixer in the gym.

As part of the outreach to Central High and Courter Tech alumni, Cincinnati State President Dr. John Henderson and the Cincinnati State Alumni Board have agreed to establish a special affiliate of the college’s alumni association. Dues-paying Central High and Courter Tech alumni will enjoy many of the same membership benefits as Cincinnati State alumni who join the association.

What:

• Friday, June 5. Reception, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the patio of the Advanced Technology Learning Center, home of the Midwest Culinary Institute, with hors d’ouevre selections and a cash bar. Cost is $25. The Summit – a fine dining restaurant affiliated with the Midwest Culinary Restaurant -- will be reserved for guests of the Cincinnati State Alumni Association and former Central High and Courter Tech students, with seating between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. Cost is $60 per person, which includes admission to the reception, along with tax and gratuities for the meal. Reservations required.
• Saturday, June 6. Afternoon open house from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. with tours. Admission is free.
• Saturday, June 6. “High School Mixer” with 60’s and 70’s DJ in the gym, 8 p.m. to midnight. Cost is $25 per person, $40 per couple. Light buffet, chips, pretzels provided. Cash bar.

Paid reservations for the Friday reception and dinner, or for the dance Saturday, are required by May 27.
