A non-degree seeking (NDS) student is:
- Enrolled or planning to enroll at another institution; seeking transferable credits only from Cincinnati State, not a degree or certificate
- Not enrolled or planning to enroll at another institution; not seeking a degree or certificate from Cincinnati State, but taking courses for personal or professional purposes

After entering in your demographic information select the "Non-Degree" option. Cincinnati State login will be mailed to the address given in 3 to 5 business days.
Identify course(s) selections for which you would like to register. You will need a copy of an official or unofficial college transcript (if applicable). A copy of the curriculum you are working towards at your home institution may be helpful in your course selections.
If the course(s) you select have a prerequisite requirement an advisor approval is needed to register. This process can take up to 3-5 business days.

If the classes you wish to take have prerequisites and you cannot provide documentation, the advisor will require you to take a placement test or recommend you complete the prerequisite course work.

Complete the form and identify the course(s) for which you would like to register. The NDS advisor will process within 3-5 business days.
- In Person
Prerequisite approval can be done in person with an advisor from the Advising Center . Advisors are located in the Advising Center, Main Building room 168 or call (513) 569-1552 for an appointment (appointments are required for in person meetings). An unofficial transcript is required for approval purposes.
- Register for classes. NDS students can register for classes during the Open Registration period.

Search for classes here. Select the “Semester” you wish to attend and then enter in the subject code and course number for the courses in which you wish to register. Once you click submit the course offerings will appear (Click here for online registration information). Complete the online registration process. Print your schedule.
- Register In Person
Search for classes here. Select the “Semester” you wish to attend and then enter in the subject code and course number for the courses in which you wish to enroll. Once you click submit the course offerings will appear.
Write down your selection including the subject code, course number and section number. Take your class information to the Office of the Registrar located in the Main Building room 161 and complete the Registration Activity Request form.

Pay though myServices by selecting “Make a Payment”.
In person at the Cashier’s Office located on the first floor of the Main Building, next to room 154.
*NDS students are not eligible to receive Financial Aid
- Obtain a Surge Card (on or before the first day of class)
Please go to Student Activities located in the ATLC building room 204 to obtain your Surge Card. Your Cincinnati State student identification number and picture identification are required. The Surge Card is your official student identification and can be used around campus (i.e., for parking, in the library, printing on campus, access to the gym, etc.)
- Purchase books
Our Bookstore is located in the lower level of the ATLC building. You can also access the bookstore online here.
- Parking information
A parking permit is $75 a semester. It must be purchased through myServices and allows unlimited parking in student lots and the garages. There is a daily cash fee of $5 for parking in the Central Parkway Garage.
- After you get your Surge Card you can apply for a Metro Card (bus discount card) through myServices.

Complete the transcript request form, through myServices, so that it can be sent to your home institution.
