Where am I in the admission process?

Here is a list of the steps to take in order to transfer to Cincinnati State. As each is completed, check it off.

If you plan to take a course or two and are not seeking a degree or certificate:

o I have submitted the online Non-Degree application form.

o If there are any course prerequisites, I have met prerequisites before taking the course.

If you wish to earn an associate’s degree or certificate:

o I submitted my application online.

o I received an admission letter from Cincinnati State, including my MyCState access code.

o I have notified the high school from which I graduated to send my transcript to the Office of Admission at Cincinnati State. If I am a college graduate, I do not need to take this step.

o If I have a GED, I have sent a copy of the original transcript of GED scores to the Office of Admission at Cincinnati State.

o For each college or university that I have attended and would like to have credit transferred to Cincinnati State, I have requested that the college or university send an official transcript to the Office of Admission.

o If I am a college graduate, I have arranged to have an official copy of my college undergraduate transcript mailed to the College.

o I have taken the COMPASS test.
OR
If I have already taken college courses in algebra and/or in English and received a grade of “C” or better, I have submitted COMPASS test waiver.
OR
If I have taken the COMPASS test at another institution, I have submitted my scores to the COMPASS lab at Cincinnati State for evaluation.
OR
If I have taken the ACT achievement test within the last two years, I may be exempt from placement testing. Submit a copy of my ACT scores to the Office of Admission via www.ACTstudent.org.

o I have completed and submitted the Free Application for Student Financial Aid (FAFSA).

o I have completed and submitted the Cincinnati State Scholarship Application by the deadline date.

o If I am a veteran, I have applied for veterans benefits.

o If I have a disability and need accommodation, I have contacted the Office of Disability Services.

Apply Early

You should begin the admission process six to eight weeks in advance of the term you plan to attend Cincinnati State. This allows time to facilitate transcript requests, process financial aid, and advise you on your academic pursuits. Note that admission to the College is based on the policy “first-come, first-qualified, first-served.” Applicants are notified of acceptance by mail and via Cincinnati State email.
