COMPASS® placement test helps you succeed
ACT has informed us that the COMPASS test will be unavailable beginning at noon, Friday, July 25 until noon, Monday, July 28. We regret that testing will be unavailable during this time.
The COMPASS placement test is designed to help determine which classes you should take as you start your studies at Cincinnati State. It accurately places you into reading, writing, and math classes that are best suited for your abilities. The placement test is there to help ensure your success; it is not timed but may not be retaken for admission purposes. There is also a short keyboarding test.
For your convenience, applicants are individually tested on a drop-in basis, no reservation is required, and there is no charge for the test. You should submit your application prior to testing. Please be sure to bring photo ID. Allow approximately 11⁄2 hours for testing. A calculator, pencil and paper are provided. Testing is not offered on College holidays. Group testing must be pre-arranged, please call 513-861-7700 for details.

Request to waive the COMPASS test
If you have successfully completed college level courses in mathematics, writing, or reading, you may submit a test waiver request.
